The Adventures of Captain Lightning Episode 2

Episode 2: Origin Part Two

March 22nd:
Scary Lightning marched down to PS 101 to find CJ. Along with his new found strength there were some side effects. He was dizzy and disorientated. Once he reached the school he asked the principal to call her down to the principal’s office so that Scary could talk to her. Once CJ arrived her made her follow him to an empty room so he could find out what was going on and why he was having the symptoms he was having.
“What was the big green flash?”
“What big green flash?”
“You know what I’m talking about,” he wasn’t going to leave without an answer.
“There was no green flash.” Scary walked over to the door and slammed it so hard that it cracked.
“Now, tell me what the flash was and why I can do all of this!” CJ sighed and sat down.
“I was experimenting with Xenon rays. The portal became unstable and exploded. The rays shot upward and I thought that it was over.”
“Portal?”
“Yes, Xenon rays only come off of the Fire Planet at the end of the galaxy.” Scary had heard of this planet. It had something to do with some big news from Astro-Knights Island. He didn’t really care about the islands over on that side of the map so he never paid attention to the news.
“So, you’re telling me I was mutated by radiation from a planet on the other side of the galaxy?”
“Yes.”
There was a slight noise behind Scary and he fell to the floor.

March 23rd:
When scary woke up his head was throbbing. He didn’t know where he was but he was in a cage. There were people in suits, ties, and dark sun glasses all around him. He wasn’t familiar with this part of Poptropica but he knew where he was and what they were going to do to him. He heard the stories of what happened to people on Spy Island. He knew what he had to do. He busted out of the cage and made a wild dash for the door. The building went into lockdown immediately and the door was barred. Scary didn’t care; he busted the door open like it was made of tin foil. Once he was out on the street he ran as fast as he could. He ended up at the docks and went inside a building to hide. He saw some clothes lying around and grabbed them. A bandana, hat, and jacket were now his. Once he had changed he waited for a few minutes and made a dash for the blimp.

The Adventures of Captain Lightning: Episode 1

Episode 1: Origin Part One

March 21st:
Scary Lightning was no different than any other Poptropican living in the apartment complexes on Shrink Ray Island. He heard rumors of his downstairs neighbor making crazy inventions. What was her name? C.J. is her name; her name is C.J. thought Scary Lightning. He had a long day working at PS 101. He was the custodian for the school and everyday had to clean the messes made by the children. It wasn’t what he had wanted to do with his life but it was a living. After eating a small dinner he took a shower and went to bed.

March 22nd:
Scary Lightning awoke to the sound of booming and crashing. He looked over at the clock and it said 3:00 AM.  Downstairs that science wiz girl was making something again! He tried to get back to sleep but he couldn’t with all of the noise flying around. After two hours of lying in bed awake he decided that he should get up and eat some breakfast. But before he could make it to the kitchen of his small apartment the whole building was shaking! It was coming from downstairs! That girl was doing something big and it was not going to end well.
“Keep it down you…” but before he could finish his sentence there was a flash of green light and he was unconscious.
When he woke up it was the middle of the day! He was late for work! He ran to his room to get dressed. Did he make it there faster then normal? If so, he didn’t notice. Once he was dressed he ran out the door. When he opened the door he ripped it completely off of the hinges! There was something different about him. He felt, stronger, taller, faster. He knew what he had to do. He went to the school to find this C.J. girl and get some answers.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Guide

Walkthrough and pictures by Samwow5 (Tough Icicle) edited by Fuzzy-B

The Golden Ticket

First, when you get to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Island, talk to Charlie next to the blimp. He says he will do anything for money, then walks away. Follow him all the way to the left, enter into the next area, and go all the way to the left to the payphones. Click on the one on the far left.

You get some money, then same guy who asked for money earlier comes out of Charlie’s house. Follow him, and enter the Corner Shop. When you get in there, he is right next to the counter.

Give him the coin so he can buy a Wonka Bar. He asks you to open it for him. Like the polite person you are, you open the candy bar, and you have the Golden Ticket! You tell Charlie to run and you push the people away. People will chase after Charlie. Follow them out the door, then there’s a game you have to protect Charlie from the townspeople!

The game’s pretty easy. Just click on the crates, trash cans, and piles of snow so Charlie doesn’t get captured. The next morning, the townspeople are looking for Charlie when a golden ticket flies out of the sky! The townspeople chase after it, and it goes into the area by Charlies house! Run to the area. Follow the ticket all the way up to the top right of the area.

Finally, after all that chasing, you get the Golden Ticket!

Go back to Main Street, and run to the right, all the way to the Chocolate Factory. Wow, the townspeople are not even mad. Something fishy is going on here. Anyway, the gates to the factory open for you.

You go inside the gates, and all the people who got a Golden Ticket are there. The factory owner, Willy Wonka, asks for all the tickets, and you’ll go inside the factory.

Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory

When you go inside, all the kids except you and Charlie act up and run away. Willy Wonka wants to find them, and asks you to get him his cane.

When you get the cane, run all the way to the right. You enter this place with has a room selector. Click on Chocolate first.

There’s a hand above that points which way to go. Follow where the hand tells you to go. After a while the hand leads you to the Chocolate Room.

The Chocolate Room

Augustus Gloop has gone nuts and jumps into the river…. and now he’s stuck in the chocolate tube.

When you notice that Augustus is stuck, click on the wheel next to you. It pushes Augustus up the tube.

Now Augustus is still stuck at least halfway up.

Now, you have to use another wheel, located above Augustus and to the right a little. Click on it, and it should shoot him up a little more. Now you have to use the third wheel, located to the far left of Augustus. Click on it.
Then a bunch of Oompa-Loompas will come in and sing “Augustus Gloop, Augustus Gloop, the Big and Greedy Nincompoop.” They take Augustus’s mom to the Fudge Room to look for her son. Follow them there.

The Fudge Room

You’ll see Augustus stuck in a tank. Click on the wheel beside him.

He falls down onto the conveyor belt covered with chocolate. Jump all the way to the left onto a platform and click the green button.

Now, he can pass without getting chopped into pieces. He falls down to the next level, when he gets near the Wonka-Oven. Click on the button with blue fire.

When you press the button, the oven should have blue fire. Now, jump onto the platform to the right and click the red button. Now, when you press the button, the oven should have hort blue flames that don't hurt Gloop. He’s going to go down to the last level. Click this orange button when he gets to the Bigger Wonka-Oven. Now when Augustus gets in between the flames, press the next button in line. When you finish, he comes out and leaves. You leave the room too, and come back where you choose a room to go to. Click on the Television Room, and follow the hands until you reach the room.

The Television Room

When you get to the TV room, you’ll find Willy Wonka teleporting his biggest candy bar through television. Then Mike Teavee decides that he wants to be the first person to be teleported through television. He gets zapped and finds himself in the television across the room.
There’s an Oompa-Loompa next to the television. He says he was watching his show but it went on the fritz, so he asks you to adjust the antenna.

The antenna should be both facing to the left when your done.
After you fix it, you’ll be able to see Mike clearly. An Oompa-Loompa comes onto the screen and leaves with Mike. Go into the Bubblegum Room.

The Bubblegum Room

When you get to the bubblegum room, you’ll see Mike hung up. The Oompa-Loompa tells you to go to the monitor to try to save Mike. Just keep adjusting him until it reaches the Poptropican size on the screen. Go back to the halls and click on the Inventing Room. Follow the hands until you reach the room.

The Inventing Room

Violet Beauregarde is right next to the Gumball Machine. Step on any of the buttons. If you step on the  yellow button some Yellow Bubblegum will come out. Violet will chew on it and turn into a Big Blueberry. They take her to the Juicing Room which is to your right.

The Juicing Room

Now you’ll have to save Violet. Adjust all the fruits into the right position (Orange in position 1, Yellow in position 2, Red in position 3, and Purple in position 4).
It should look like this when you finish.
Now Violet is squeezed back to normal size! Next, head to the Nut Room.

The Nut Room

Veruca Salt is there, begging her dad for a squirrel. Walk over, and when you pass the squirrels, you’ll get a Walnut. Then Veruca jumps up and trys to grab a squirrel. Some squirrels jump on her and push her down a hole. You jump in after her.
When you get in the Incinerator, jump up to the right and pull the chain. A Giant Gumball comes out. Push it right to the fan.
Pull the chain again, and push the Giant Gumball right until it falls into the doorway.
Jump over the Giant Gumball, then run right and pull the generator switch.
Jump down to the bottom left, where there’s another generator and a trash can. Push it back left until it is in front of the doorway. Then pull the second generator switch.
Jump up and to the right, you’ll see a squirrel turning a wheel. Use the Walnut. The squirrel will stop, and you’ll save Veruca Salt and her dad! But before you leave, get the Whipped Cream and Fizzy Lifting Drink. To get out of the room, use the Fizzy Lifting Drink.

Saving Charlie

When you go back to the hallway, you will notice that the “Chocolate” on the room selector is blinking. Click that, and follow the hands so you know where to go.
When you arrive, Willy Wonka is there with Charlie Bucket, deciding to give the keys to the factory. Suddenly, the land Charlie was standing on breaks off! Talk to Willy Wonka and say you want to save him. This will start a minigame.
In the game to save Charlie, you need to to make your way across the river. You can use the Whipped Cream to help you make temporary platforms for you to hop on. The orange logs are safe for you to jump on for any amount of time. Make your way around to the right and save Charlie with Wonka’s cane.
After you save Charlie, Willy Wonka gives the keys to Charlie, and you get a lifetime supply of chocolate and visiting rights to the factory whenever you want. And, of course, the island medallion.

Bonus Quest Walkthrough

Wonka’s three biggest rivals have infiltrated the factory and absconded with his most important recipes! It’s your job to take to the skies and bring those recipes back!
In the glass elivator you fly around the skies. Pick up the floating candy to refuel yout elivator, once it is full, click to relese the candy to gum up the enemy planes engines. Do this 3 times and you get the Helio-Gum item!

Introduction

Once you have created your character by giving it a unique look and name with the tools provided, you will arrive on Museum Island. To begin, talk to the man outside. He will tell you that the museum is in need of artifacts to make it great again. You’ll follow him inside. Go into the closet found on the second floor of the museum. Customize the look of one of the mannequins, and talk to the man. You will then be allowed to leave the museum and start your adventure. Remember, eventually, you will come back to the museum, coming inside the three exhibit rooms and dropping off the artifacts you receive on your adventures.

Super Power Island

Once you reach the Map, we’re going to start with Super Power Island. Head towards said Island, located on the far left of the map. Once you arrive, talk to Ned Noodlehead, who is the person standing by the Comic Shop with the broken front door. He’ll describe the tragic scene to you, and tell you that you’ll need to find the three stolen comic books.

Sir Rebral

Go to the right, and climb up the building you first see. Go to the rooftop, and you’ll find Sir Rebral. If you’ve played the game, you’ll know that this is not his true outfit. Don’t worry though, you’ll encounter a lot of costume changes in the game. Now, talk to him, and accept his offer for a game of Catch. Catch the tomatoes, trying to prevent five of them from falling, or you’ll have to restart the game. Once you defeat him, you’ll receive the first of the three comic books, the ones stolen from the comic shop. Next, climb down from the rooftop and go to the next building.

Crusher

You’ll have to win a game of Jump to climb this building. Dodge the falling stones, and climb on the platforms. Remember that the ones that look like they’re about to break will cause you to fall. Once you’ve beaten the game of Jump, you’ll meet Crusher, who has also seemed to undergo an unfortunate costume change. Dodge 99 statues, and you’ll retrieve the second comic book.

Ratman

Walk back to Main Street and go into the manhole by the phone booth. Click on the valve and rearrange the pipes. When you’re finished, find Ratman. Talk to him, and accept his task. Find his six rats in the sewer, and give them to him to retrieve the third and final comic book.
Find the girl near your blimp, and help her with her game. It is a game of maze. Navigate the three levels and she’ll give you a prize. When you’re done, deliver the comics to Ned and go inside the comic shop. Tell the PI that you solved the crime, and he’ll give you the Letter of Gratitude.

Betty Jetty

Go to the open window on the second building, and go inside. Give the old superhero the Letter, and he’ll give you the ID Card. When you get the ID Card, go back to the comic shop and talk to the PI. Find the four pieces of Betty Jetty’s security photo, and give them to the PI. Talk to the police officer guarding the subway station. He’ll ask you for a hot dog. Go to the hot dog cart and take a Hot Dog. When you give it to him, he wants something to put it in, so give him a Pretzel from the pretzel cart.
Now go into the subway and find Betty Jetty, who has seemingly gained an ironic pink heart-covered outfit. Beat her in a game of Race. Once you beat Betty Jetty, Ned will show up. He will reveal that Betty is really her sister, and he was the one who tore up the security photo for fear of her getting caught. When you go back up, you can go back to your blimp.

Museum

Head back to the Museum and head into the Super Power Exhibition Room (NOTE: The Exhibition Room is near the entrance.) Place the artifacts you collected on your previous journey into the cases you think will suit them most. Talk to the man before you leave. He’ll tell you that he’s fixed the windows and repainted everything. Yay, progress! Now, go back to your blimp.

Mythology Island

Back at the Map, head to Mythology Island, located on the far right. Talk to the man standing by the Mount Olympus gates. He’ll reveal himself to be Hermes, and he’s lost his magical winged hat. He’ll give you a letter to give to Poseidon, god of the seas.

Poseidon’s Temple & Pan Flute

Head to Poseidon’s temple on the right of Main Street. Climb up the rocks near the temple of Poseidon and go to the waterfall. Click on the valve. Beat the puzzle by switching the pipes around. If you succeed, you should shut down the waterfall. Go back down and go inside the temple. Go to the right and retrieve the pan flute. Then go to the right and find a girl who will tell you, “Simply play the sounds of the seas, and the door will open with ease.”
Go outside the temple and head towards the Artemis Forest. Talk to Pan and give him the Pan Flute. He’ll give you the shell. Go back to Poseidon’s temple and use the shell on the door. Go down and talk to Poseidon and give him the letter. He’ll give you a fish.

Hades’ Temple

Go back to Main Street and give the fish to the man selling cabbages. He’ll give you a cabbage, which you’ll need later. Go back to Hermes and he’ll give you a package to deliver to Hades, god of the Underworld. Go right, towards the temples. Go inside of Hades’ temple and talk to Charon, who’s on the boat. Say you want to cross the river and another game of Maze will pop up.
Navigate the boat through the water, watching out for the glowing eyes, which belong to a crocodile who WILL EAT YOU. Once the third level is completed, go through the door. Give Hades the package, and return to Hermes.

Artemis and her Arrows

Hermes will give you a letter to deliver to Artemis, goddess of the hunt. Go left, to the forest, and give the letter to Artemis.  She’ll proclaim that she cannot read it until she finds her six arrows. They are placed as follows:
  1. At the near bottom of the tree
  2. Somewhere else in the tree
  3. On top of the picture of Zeus on Main Street
  4. On the uppermost rock above Poseidon’s temple
  5. On the rocks on Hades’ temple
  6. Up at the top of the waterfall
Give the arrows to Artemis and she’ll say it’s from Apollo, who tells her of a deer wearing a winged hat loose in the wildlife. Follow her to the deer, and she’ll ask for something to calm it down. Give her the cabbage from earlier. Grab the winged hat and go back to Main Street. Give the winged hat to Hermes.

Zeus, Pearl, Satchel

Zeus will arrive, and challenge you to a race. Beat Zeus, and talk to Hermes. He’ll challenge you to another race. Beat him, and talk to the girl by Herc’s Hero Hut. She’ll fantasize about a pearl from Poseidon’s temple she wants. Go to Poseidon’s temple and get the pearl, which is on the column by Poseidon.
Go back outside and talk to the woman by Hades’ temple. She’ll say she dropped her satchel when she visited Hades. Go back into the River Styx maze, and go past Cerberus, grabbing the satchel. Go back outside and give the girl her satchel. Next, go back to Main Street and give the girl the pearl. Now head back to the Map.

Museum

Go back to the Museum and go into the Mythology exhibition room. Deposit all of the artifacts collected on the trip to Mythology in their appropriate spots. Exit and go back to the map and head to Astro-Knights Island.

Astro-Knights Island

Congratulations! Home stretch! Now, go to the castle, which is located left of Main Street. Go up the windows and go through the open one. Find the queen, and she’ll tell you to talk to the king. Go to the throne room, located right of that point. Talk to the king, and he’ll tell you, “Beep, I am not seeing visitors at the moment. Boop, please come back later.”

Sir Pelleas & Spaceship

Leave the throne room, and tell the Queen. She’ll tell you to speak to Sir Cador, the Green Knight. Talk to him, and he’ll send you to Sir Pelleas, the Red Knight. Ask if you can borrow the spaceship. He’ll say you’ll need an electrical source, a fuel cell, and a wrench. The wrench is on the Olde Rumor Mill, the electrical source is on the top of the junk pile in the castle, and the fuel cell is won by racing the guy by the Mordred Museum. Once all of these things are gathered, give them to Sir Pelleas.
You’ll need to help him wire the circuits. Beat the puzzle, and then he’ll ask for a space map. Go to the castle, and talk to the monk by the UFO, who will give you one. Give the space map to Sir Pelleas, and climb into the rocket. You’ll need to navigate the maze, which is surrounded by lasers. Make your way through it and go to Pewter Moon. Climb on the Fire Planet teleporter, and go to the Fire Planet.

King’s Scepter

Climb up, and talk to the squire once you beat the game of Jump. He’ll say that the king’s scepter is hidden somewhere in the throne room. Go back to Earth, and find the scepter in the window. Go back to the moon, and talk to the alien by the teleporter. She’ll steal it, and ask for wire in exchange. Go back to Earth, and ask the man by the right of the window for some wire. Go back to the moon, and give it to the alien. Help her rewire the circuits. She’ll give you the scepter.

Atomic Phoenix, Scales, Telescope

Hop on the green teleporter, and go to the Jungle Planet. Talk to Binary Bard. He’ll challenge you to a race against the Atomic Phoenix. Beat the phoenix, and talk to the king. You’ll wind up in another game of Jump. Reach the top, and you’ll be brought back to the Jungle Planet.
The king will tell you to go back to earth to inform the queen. Do just that, and talk to Sir Pelleas afterwards. He’ll ask you to collect some of the dragon scales he lost in a battle on the Fire Planet, along with some proof he was there. Do it, and give them to him. Next, go back to the castle and talk to the guy you got the space map from. He’ll ask you to find his telescope. It’s on the Olde Rumor Mill. Give it to him, and you’re officially done! Great job! Head back to the museum.

The end… or is it?

Go into the Astro-Knights exhibition room on the second floor of the museum, and talk to the curator. He’ll congratulate you on the job, and say that they’ve added a new wing to the museum in your honor. Go upstairs and stop at the black door.
Go inside, and you’ll find some old-fashioned arcade games based on the minigames from your game. Get the high score in each game, and you’ll get an outfit for the Museum Closet. Beat all six, and you’re all done with your Poptropica Adventures! Congratulations!
