What to Expect When You Make Friends!

Over the last week there have been a LOT of posts about the new friends feature.  They let us see all of the awesome new features.

Playing through an Island on Poptropica gets you many rewards. Besides the satisfaction of a job well done, you'll also earn a gold medallion that you can wear to show off your accomplishment. But how many of you have been able to pull this off?

Medallions for every Island! Whoa, nelly. That's worth bragging about. Soon it'll be easier to show off an achievement like this.

One of the great things about Poptropica Friends is that you'll be able to see what medallions your friends have earned, and they'll be able to see the same for you. You'll even be able to show off how many times you've beaten each Island, by using Island Restart.

Poptropica Friends is launching soon. There's no better time than the present to start adding to your medallion total, before all your friends can see!

You already know that Poptropica Friends will let you stay informed about what your friends are doing in Poptropica. What you might not know is how easy that's going to be!

Presenting the Recent Activity feed! You'll see this little box whenever you return to Poptropica, and it will show you the most up-to-date things your friends have been doing in Poptropica. You'll see when your friend has earned a photo, beaten an Island, saved a new costume, or answered a Pop Quiz. You can click through to see their full profile, or just flip through the feed to see what everyone is up to.

There's a lot more coming with Poptropica Friends. We're looking forward to sharing it with you!

One of the new features that will be coming with Poptropica Friends is the photo album. It's like your own virtual scrapbook of your adventures through Poptropica!

By playing through Islands, you'll occasionally see a message that says "New Photo Added" when you get to an important part of the story. Then, when you visit your photo album, you'll see snapshots showing you a new perspective of your character's feats. Every Island has about four different photos. There are over 100 in total!

Even better: every time you earn a new photo, the outfit you were wearing at the time is recorded in the picture. Even if you change clothes, you can costumize from your photos later!

Wait, there's more! If you're looking through a friend's photo album, you can costumize off of them, too. It's like the number of possible costumes just went to infinity!

We can admit that we're not perfect. One thing Poptropica is missing right now is an easy way to save the best costumes that you've put together. With Poptropica Friends, that will no longer be the case!

Another new feature with Poptropica Friends is the Costume Closet, which allows Members to store up to 30 unique costumes at a time. Not only that, but you can look through your friends' closets and borrow their best costume ideas, as well.

There you have it! The days of putting together a spectacular costume and then having to get rid of it are almost over.

All of these posts by Captain Crawfish let us know what to expect with friends. The only thing I can think of to make it better is that we get the photos for Islands completed before the friends feature. I guess that that wouldn't work because of cusomizing the suit from the picture. This is still really cool. There is only one way to describe this new feature... Epicness!

Twisted Thicket Guide

Written by Super Thunder & Brave Tomato, Edited by Fuzzy-B

. Go right, until you get to the construction area. Apparently, it’s a “hard-hat area”, too. Talk to the official-looking dude in the white hat and sunglasses.

You’re job is to go into those scary woods, and track down the creatures. Do you do it? Of course you do! Go right, after the white hat guy, and you’ll come to this orange see-throught tunnel. You can go up it.

Continue going up, and go right. Go down the stairs, and you’ll come to these scary woods you’ve heard of. Ready or not, here I come, creatures! Go right and enter the thicket. First, you’ll see something that looks like a glowing acorn.

Go right, a little, get the acorn (Lesovyk Rune is the official name) but then, a bunch of tiny dryads will come up, and clump to you, and carry you away if you don’t move fast. Most of Twisted Thicket is made of strategy and quick-thinking. To get past the dryads, but still be able to pass through the high trunks, you need to let some of the dryads pick you up.

This is just enough for your Poptropican to become a little lighter, so you can float past the trunks. Move quickly, however, because those dryads come fast. Also, remember that navigating is hard with dryads; the main advice is don’t stop moving. They’ll come at you and stick, if you do stop. Also, remember that they can pick you up, but they can also carry you down.
After the dryads, you get a small break. Just go up the branches.

After the branches, you’ll come to some green vines. This is just some vine hopping, don’t worry. Ignore those pesky elves choppiing the vines down. Just avoid them, and go left.

Eventually, you’ll have to go up. Go up, ignoring the little elves.

As you go right, and try to hop on a vine, you’ll fall. But don’t worry, there’s a branch there to catch you, so when you land, you can get the Kobold Rune. Then you can keep on going right, up the branches, and right. Now you’ll come to four long vines, dangling in front of you. Don’t worry, this is a bit like Pole Climb. You need to think really fast, and move quick if an elf is there. Just climb, and jump.

Once you reach the top of the vines, you’ll be at the treetop. There is a sort of pattern involved here. Dryads will fly in a formation. This is the order in which you have to do it to get past them.
1. Jump. The dryads will make a loop once, then when they turn red, jump.

2. Duck. The dryads will, like the first time, loop, but this time they’ll come a little higher. Duck to avoid being stung.

3. Walk in when empty. The dryads will loop, and you need to walk in the center when there’s an opening. Then, walk out of the center, when there’s an opening again.

4. Walk in opposite way. This is the same step as the third, only now the dryads will be going the opposite way.
Repeat this pattern until you can go right. Next come… The trolls! For the first troll, jump on the little platform to avoid the boulder.

Then, go right, and when the boulder is ducked down, jump on his back to get to the upper level.

For the second and third trolls, you also just need to go platform hopping, to avoid the boulders when they come by you. When you’re finally at the last troll, jump on the platform and wait. Then, the boulder collapses on him!

Fail, troll. Jump on the boulder, and continue going up. As you’re going up, get the Jotunn Rune.

Now, beware the Nokken! It can turn invisible, but still, you can see it’s footprints. It’s tiny, red, glowing, evil footprints…

If you see this near you, move as fast as you can! Go right, avoiding the Nokken.
Caution: Just because you’re underwater doesn’t mean you’re safe. Those “currents” you see are actually the Nokken! Watch out for those currents! (bubbles moving in a speedy direction) Oh, and those green seaweed-like plants underwater could sting you a bit.
You’ll get the Nackrosor Rune.

The next part is the goblin part, which, like the dryads, is a sort of pattern. But, if you don’t move fast enough you have to start over.

Remember to do low jumps for small objects, high jumps for tall obstavles, and don’t jump when there’s a little goblin hanging. Go right, quickly and fast.
Along the way, you’ll see the Dokkalfar Rune. Jump up there and get it. And then you’ll get to zipline, while the little gobling jump to thir little deaths!

Okay. You get a break. After those dangerous dryads, evil elves, trecherous trolls, nasty Nokkens, and… I can’t think of any alliteration for the gnomes…. However, you do end up in front of a tree. A big one to be exact.

You’ll need to open that passage. Now, this is where those stones (excuse me, runes) come in. You need to click on the little shapes in the trees in the order you have found them (look in your items section for reference in which runes you got in order). The order is Lesovyk (the acorn), Kobold (the twig), Jotunn (the mushroom thing), Nackrosor (the tree), and finally the Dokkalfar (the stump), conveiently left to right order!
The branches will open up and reveal a secret passage. Let’s go check it out!
But when you walk in, there are a bunch of woodland creatures there. Knowing their bad reputation, you freak out. However, they look at you and do nothing, except for the Nokken, who’s dozing off.

However, after the camera pans on you, it goes to an elven girl, who WELCOMES you to their area.

Okay, now these creatures have got some ‘splaining to to. Go and talk to the girl and she introduces herself as the elf queen. She also says that this thicket is the last refuge of the magical world. Umm… there are unnatural things in other islands too, ya know. But, well, your world, I see. Hmm. Maybe this thicket isn’t as twisted as I thought before.
However, she mentions that this is all because of human construction.
You’ll ask “Humans forced you here?” She replies saying that the modern technology has destroyed their homes and took away most of its magic.
(Awkward how she mentioned that while I’m carrying a chainsaw. I didn’t do anything! This was just part of the costume!)
The orb is the source of the magic in the thicket. It’s the only way they could defend themselves, and it has to be protected.

Suddenly, as if on cue, ropes appear and humans start sliding down. It’s the lumberjacks! The official-looking dude from before, called the developer, returns and thanks you for bringing them to the heart of the forest. And that’s not a good thing. Cause they’re going to breach the thicket of its magical defenses and bulldoze this place to build this giant casino.
Suddenly, one of the lumberjacks swings his chainsaw and DESTROYS the orb!!! Okay, it’s freak out time.
A worker points out the magic that has been destroyed. The lumberjacks laugh, the queen is hardly stricken, and the developer says this:

With that, the lumberjacks and the developer pick up pieces of the shattered orb and take off.
After those jerks are gone, the Elf Queen will give you an amulet, saying it’s the last bit of magic in this realm. And also says that you must use it to stop the Developer and save the forest!
She’ll say to take the tunnel to stop the developer and the lumberjacks. (Although all of those guys are developers, I want to separate the boss guy from them by calling him the developer.) Then, she and the other woodland creatures turn to stone, left helpless without magic.  And that was when the Nokken woke up, finding he is now made of stone. The troll is even able to put on a sad face before he turned.

No! This can’t be! You know that. You run off to the right.
Three construction vehicles pass you right on by, and they’re heading for the thicket! You need to stop them! The camera will for a second turn to the wrecking ball, dangling helplessly. Now, it’s time to use that magic.
Wear the amulet by clicking Put on. Three icons will appear on the bottom left of your screen. One will have the image of a dryad, one of a gnome, and one of a troll. If you click on the dryad, leafy wings will sprout and you can fly (again)! If you click on the gnome, you have the speed of Speeding Spike of Super Power Island, able to catch up to those speedy vehicles (and sport a patched hat while doing so!). If you click the troll, you grow in size and have their strength. Okay, you need to use those powers strategically.
First, use Gnome Speed to catch up to the wrecking ball vehicle. Once you’re on top of the vehicle, use Troll Strength and push on the little crane thing that goes up. It’ll be pushed down thanks to your strength. Then, use Dryad Flight to reach the top of the crane where the wrecking ball is and pull the lever. The wrecking ball will land on the bulldozer, conveniently. Jump down and use Troll Strength and click on the wrecking ball. You’ll throw it at the neighboring right vehicle, where a lumberjack guarding the fuse box will be knocked over.

Now, use Gnome Speed again to reach the orange vehicle and jump on top of the fuse box. Use the Troll strength again and click on the fuse box, and you’ll destroy it! This causes a chain construction vehicle accident. You’ll jump up to the drivers door and stomp the Developer out of his seat. You’ll return yourself back to your normal human self and the Developer apologizes.

(And that, kids, teaches us a very important lesson about the forests and the environment!)
To prove his apology is true, he gives you the shards of the orb back! Yay!! Now, you’ll need to return these things to the Elf Queen to restore everyone back from stone!
You’ll arrive back at the heart of the forest and use the orb. The area will shine for a second…

…and the orb returns to its rightful place! Turning all the creatures back to normal! Well, the Nokken goes back to sleep…
The Elf Queen is awake again and you kindly return the amulet. She thanks you for returning the orb and saving the forest. With that, she gives you the island medallion! Congratulations! You’ve defeated Twisted Thicket’s main plot!

Bonus Quest Time! (Members Only)
Just when you think everybody’s happy again, all of a sudden, the Elf Queen starts becoming transparent and solid over and over again. The orb is still missing pieces! And they’re all over the thicket! The Elf Queen will return the amulet to you. Might as well wear it. She’ll ask of you to go to the tunnels and find the orb shards through there.
Go to the tunnel on the right and wear the amulet. Select Gnome Speed and run through the spiderwebs. Enter through the tunnel there.
You’re at the place where the Nokken hated you. Go up the vine and go left until you reach the gate.

Enter through the gate. While still having Gnome Speed, run through the ladders to the other side. Once you’re at where the mushrooms are, use Dryad Flight and fly up to the first orb shard. One down, four to go. Use Gnome Speed again to exit the castle thing and exit the area through the tunnel you came out of.
Once you’re back in the tunnels, use Dryad Flight to fly up to the next floor. Continue going left and at the wall, fly up to the right. You’ll encounter a huge boulder. Now, use Troll Strength to push that boulder out of the way. You’ll call the boulder a “pebble” and push it out of the way. Sound familiar? Looks like our characters have been listening to Hercules’s cliche sayings back in Mythology Island. Enter through the tunnel.
Now, you’re in Troll Land. Use the
Fairy
Dryad Flight to fly up to where these vines are. Watch out for the spikes!

Navigate through the vine maze and you’ll encounter a random hanging boulder. There is an orb shard hidden behind it!! Get on the surface of the vine and use Troll Strength to push that boulder so you would be able to grab the shard. Two down three to go. Exit the area from where you came from (the cave without any skulls)
Continue going right. Another spiderweb. Time to use Gnome Speed again and go through it. Enter through the tunnel.
You’re in a new area. Put on those fairy wings. As you go along, you might wake up a couple of lil’ dryads in their homes. Luckily, they remember you as a friend. Use the fairy wings to fly over the first floor holes, fly to the second floor, then use the Gnome Speed to take care of the rest of the run (the stoned areas fall when you go on them) Three down, two to go. Exit the area.
Fly up and to the right (the left leads to the construction site, and you don’t wanna go there until you’re done) and enter that tunnel.
You’re in the vine area. Use Dryad Flight and go left until you see an area that says “Dryads only”. Continue going to the left and fly up and to the right. There’s the next shard! 4 down, one to go! Exit the area.
Go down a lot until you reach the area the first time you flew up. (between the first and second tunnels I told you) At this intersection, fly up and enter the arrowed tunnel.

You’ll see the wooden deer.
Fly up and to the left, over the open hole and a shard will fall. Well, you can’t exactly get it yet. Get to the ground on the other side, and use Troll Strength. There is a battering ram nearby. Jump to the other side of the ram and push it to the right, until the Trojan Deer gets crumbled and you can get the last shard.

Go back to the heart of the forest and talk to the elf queen. She’ll thank you once again for returning the orb pieces and returning the full magic of the forest.

Congratulations! You’ve finished Twisted Thicket Island!

Who knew about the noses?

I was checking the PCB today and I noticed something new.

Who nose what's new in Poptropica?

We're excited to announce the most groundbreaking, innovative feature in the history of Poptropica: Noses!

On Monday, we’ll be adding noses to every single character on Poptropica, whether you want one or not. Now, your Poptropican will be better than ever at sniffing out clues, stuffing the competition, and running up the score. Not since the introduction of the Costumizer or the removal of the Monster Carnival map icon have we made an update this momentous.

We hope you’re as excited as we are about this amazing new update. You will always remember April 1st as the day everything changed on Poptropica!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

What if we don't want any noses? Can we customize noses or change our nose? This is monuments! Is there a chance that this is a April Fools Day joke? If it isn't shouldn't we get a choice of a nose or not or at least the type of nose. I think I will document nose-less Poptropicans for future reference.

Can you stick your tounge up your dryad?

It looks like we are going to get kidnapped by some angry dryads in the newest upcoming island.

Up, up, and away!

Some of the inhabitants of Twisted Thicket can be pretty prickly!

Also there is a new sneak peek at the mysterious new tab that is coming. Friends? Costume Closet? Now a quiz game? Curiouser and curiouser.

I know someone that can do that. Sasquatch can do it. That makes it Squatchin'. Any way here is a mass picture off all of the Ancient Greek previews in the Daily Pop.

Pretty cool, eh? But don't we already have Mythology Island?

Happy International Waffle Day!

Waffles, tasty waffles!

Did you know that today is International Waffle Day? Did you further know that there's a new costume in the store which celebrates it? You do now!

Boys can pick up the square waffle costume, while girls can get the stylish round waffle costume. Both look tasty to me, but it appears that the house pets of Poptropica disapprove.

Head to Poptropica and visit the Poptropica Store to get your waffle costume!

In other non-waffle related news...
It is become clear that the prize for winning an island is only 50 Credits, bumped down from 100 on previous islands. Strange.  Also another hint at the "Friends" button that appeared for about 20-ish hours back in August. Look back at this post near the bottom for all of the details on that. Also looking at the past eight or so Daily Pop posts you can see the new previews for what seems to be an... ancient Greek island? I'm not sure what it is, but check it out for yourself in the Pop now.

Vampire's Curse Walkthrough

You land in Vampire’s Curse Island and you are immediately greeted by some grim-looking citizens who are very upset at the fact that there are two missing teenagers. They are frightened that the two teenagers may have gone up to Bram the vampire’s castle and we are the only Poptropican that can save them!
Run all the way to your right and continue to the right and you’ll find the boy teenager waiting for you. He’ll tell you what happened to his girlfriend and that he’s not going to save her from Bram the vampire. We’re her only hope! Jump up a few times and you will get scared and be attacked by a wolf. He’ll knock you back, but continue to your right until you see a tree with a hole in it. Hide inside the hole in the tree, and when the wolf comes back, click on the lowest branch on the left of the tree to knock him away so you can continue making your way up to the castle. Jump up the stairs to your right, jump to the platform to your left, as the doorway on the upper-right is too small for you to enter. Jump up to the vine on the left, climb to the top of the vine to the bottom of the bridge and then fall off to your left. Move to your left and try to jump on the vine. You’ll get attached by a wolf again and you’ll pick up a log. Make your way back to the vines and use them to make your way to the left.
Jump up onto the rocks and make your way to the right, where you’ll be attacked by the wolf again. Once you can control your avatar again, make your way to the right and click on the post connecting the bridge to the cliff. You will cut the bridge and it will fall down with the wolf on it. Then, jump across and you’ll see that the bridge now makes a ladder that you can use to jump to the top! Jump up the ladder and continue to the right. Continue to your right and go into the first doorway you come to, which is called a mausoleum. Inside the mausoleum, pick up the Teen Vampire Novel and the Crow Bar. Exit the mausoleum and continue to the right. Stop on the right hand side of the boarded up building and click on the metal gutter on the right of the building to pull it off. Carry it over to the right a few steps and then click to set it down. Then, jump on the handle to start the water pump that should go into the gutter and direct the water to fill up the spike pit with water. Adjust the position of the gutter as needed until the water goes into it. Swim across the pit now and enter the archway! Once you come through the doorway, head to your left and jump over the first boulder. Once you’re on the left side of it, run up against it and push it to the right until it falls into the first fountain. Run to your left again and you’ll see a boulder trapped in some rocks. Use your crowbar to pry it loose and then push it to the right just like you did with the earlier boulder until it falls into the second fountain. Run to your right and jump up the tower a few times until you see a third boulder. Get on the right side of it and push it to your left and it will fall on to another fountain. Now, the third fountain is shooting higher than ever! Fall down and get on top of the third fountain and it will push you up to a platform above the locked gate. Jump to your left and enter the broken window. As soon as you land in the room, you’ll be in front of the fireplace. Use the log and the Teen Vampire Novel on the fireplace and then jump on the bellows to the left 3 times. The fireplace will light up the room so you can see a bit more and you’ll see some purple candles to the right. Grab a candle and then use the fireplace to light the candle. Run to your right and you’ll see a bookcase ladder. Jump past it to get on the right of it and then push it all the way to the left hand side. Don’t worry about lighting another candle, you’ll know when you are at the end.
Run back to the fireplace and grab another candle and light it. Run to your left quickly and jump up the bookcase ladder to the platform above it. Stay all the way to the left and jump on the tiny platform above you. Then, jump to your upper-right and you’ll light the chandelier! There are 4 chandeliers up here, so you have 3 more to light up.
Fall back down and grab a candle, but don’t light it with the fireplace! Run to your left and jump up the ladder and get on the first chandelier that you already lit. Click the chandelier to light the candle and then jump to your upper right to the second chandelier and you’ll light it when you land on it. Drop back down and grab another candle, taking care not to light it with the fireplace again. Get back up to the second chandelier, then use it to light the candle. Jump to your right and you’ll land on the third chandelier and light it. One more to go! Fall back down one last time and grab a candle. Jump across to the third chandelier and light the candle. Then jump over to your right and you’ll land on a platform exactly like the one on the left side above the ladder. Run all the way to the wall on the right and jump up on the small ledge. Then, jump to your upper left and light the final chandelier. That’s better, now we can really see!
Jump down and run to your left and pick up the glass eye on the floor next to the knight. Continue to your left and pull the lever to close the small door. Jump up the ladder that is all the way on the left and get on the platform. Jump to your right and land on the first bookcase. Notice how the tiger is missing an eye? You have one! Use your glass eye and the tiger will open its mouth to reveal a key! Take the key and run to the left. Use the key to unlock the door next to your ladder and enter the next room. Enter the Armory and grab the crossbow from the wall, you’ll need it a few times during the Vampire’s Curse Island, but not just yet! Run to your left until you see the cannon. Grab one of the cannon balls below and you will put it into the cannon. Run to your right to go back into the room with the fireplace, grab a candle, light it with the fireplace and run quickly into the armory and touch the candle to the fuse on the cannon to make it go off. Repeat this process for the other two cannon balls and the cannon will shoot a cannon ball back into the fireplace room, which you’ll need later. The third cannon ball will blow the ceiling out.
Jump up into the hole in the ceiling and grab the water bucket. Drop down and run to your right back into the fireplace room. Run all the way to your right until you see the chained door. Use your crowbar to pry open the door and go through the door. You’ll be back where you entered the castle with the fountain! Use the bucket to collect the water from the fountain and re-enter the door. Head back to the armory and jump above the cannon.
Equip your crossbow and press the spacebar to shoot your arrows into the left wall, building a ladder of arrows that you can use to jump up to the level above. This will take a few tries, so don’t get frustrated, just keep trying and you’ll get there! Once you are up, use the bucket of water to water the small plant and then use the crowbar to break open the boards in front of the window. The plant will grow very quickly into a huge beanstalk, and you can jump out of the window. Run to your right and go up the stairs and climb the beanstalk to the first doorway. Enter the doorway and you’ll be in the laboratory. You’ll be visiting this place a few more times throughout this island! Run to your right and pick up Count Bram’s Notebook and then click the tomato in the container so that your head turns into a flying tomato and float up to the top of the bookcase on your left and get the Garlic hidden behind the jug on the upper right of the bookcase.
Exit the lab through the wooden door below the bookcase and run across the bridge to enter the next room. You’ll enter the room and notice that the girl teenager that you are trying to rescue is locked in a cage, hanging high above the top of the room. Talk to the teenager (Katya) and make sure to ask her all 3 questions. Katya tells you that we need to cure Count Bram’s vampirism and that the Root Causes book will help us find all the ingredients for the cure. Head out of her room to the left and back into the laboratory. Head outside on the left and then drop all the way down to the bottom of the castle. Run to your right and go in the main doors back into the room with the fireplace and chandeliers.
You’ll need to move the ladder over to the right, in front of the fireplace, if it is still along side the left wall. Jump up to the top of the ladder and then over to your right on top of the bookshelf. Click the green book on the right at the top of the book shelf to get the Root Causes book. You can examine the book to see what you’ll need, but you don’t have to. Jump down from the bookshelf and head back through the main doors on your right outside.
Run to your left and go through the archway. From the platform you are on, take out your crossbow and shoot 3-4 arrows into the wall on your right so you can use the arrows as a stepladder to climb up to the top where you’ll see a platform containing the mandrake root. This will take a few tries because the arrows keep falling out quickly, but you’ll get it if you keep trying! A hint is to start with the bottom arrow and then move up, since the first arrow will fall out first. Now that you have the mandrake root, head back through the archway and run to your right and enter the castle through the main entrance again. Run to your left and jump over the cannonball. Then, push the cannonball to your right until it reaches the fireplace. You will notice that the cannonball will heat up and you won’t be able to touch it without being burned. Pick up the fire poker just on the right of the fireplace and use it to push the cannonball to your left. It will roll into the dummy elevator (small box to the left of the suit of armor) just under the lever.
Go through the door on the left and enter the Armory. Make your way up to the top of the armory and through the hole in the ceiling and out the window, back to the laboratory. Run to your right and pull the lever to bring the red-hot cannonball up in the dummy elevator. It will roll out underneath the beaker containing Wolfsbane and begin to heat it, which will create the melted Wolfsbane that you need to complete the serum! Now that you have all the ingredients, you can complete the serum and cure Count Bram’s vampirism! Click the microscope and use your syringe on the ingredients in this exact recipe:
  • 1 click Mandrake Root
  • 3 clicks Wilted Wolfsbane
  • 3 clicks Garlic Extract
Once you have completed the recipe, it will give you a syringe containing the serum for Count Bram. Head through the door just to your left and go into the room containing the locked-up teenager. Jump up to her cage and she’ll realize you have the serum and give you a hint about the key in the room. Drop down to your right and you’ll notice a sparkly wand, click on it and click the bars and then use the stick to pull the key out of the locked area. Jump up to Katya’s cage and use the key to unlock her and let her out. Once she gets out, Count Bram the Vampire comes and threatens you both. You will jump out of the window and the teenager will tell you to follow her. Open up your inventory and equip the garlic so that you can keep Count Bram away from her. Try your best to keep up and follow all of her jumps as you make your way across and to the top of the tower.
Now that you are at the top of the tower, Bram will turn into a bat and try his best to foil your plan to help her escape. Aim the syringe at the bat and fire! Be careful, some Poptropicans report that you only get one shot with the syringe, so make it count or you may have to start this part over!
Once you have hit him with the serum, he will turn back into his human form and be reunited with his sweetheart. Congratulations, you have earned the Vampire’s Curse Island medal!

Bonus Quest

When you start the bonus quest, you will find out that Katya’s boyfriend Christopher is also a vampire! All of a sudden, Cactus Von Garlic, the vampire slayer will show up to save you both from the vampire! Unfortunately, he’s too late and he will bite you and turn you into a vampire bat and run away. Cactus Von Garlic begins to hunt you and Katya will run across the room and knock him out, telling you to fly away and find a way to remake the vampire cure for yourself. We’ll have to find the 3 ingredients again, but they are in different places! The garlic is one of the hardest ingredients to find in the bonus quest, which is funny, because it is basically right above you when you are turned into the bat in the fireplace room! To find the garlic, fly above the fireplace, just to the left of the second and third chandelier and you’ll notice a small hole. Click the hole to fly into it.
You’ll enter a room filled with burning red hot spiders. Watch out, they’ll burn you and send you back to the entrance! The garlic is on your left, so just watch the pattern and take your time making it through them. You can fly above or below them, depending on your preference. Grab the garlic, exit the room, and now we’re off to get the second ingredient! Cactus Von Garlic is still chasing you and he’ll be a bit annoying, but don’t worry about him. He might hit you with an arrow once in awhile, but it only hurts a little bit and you can keep going. Fly down to the ground level and then fly over to the right. Cactus Von Garlic is standing in front of the door, but you can still just fly through it and go outside. Once you’re outside, fly to your left, staying low, and go through the archway. Fly over to your left to the small building that had the gutter attached to it when you used it to redirect the gargoyle pump to fill up the spike pit with water. See the little hole at the top? Fly into it!
You’ll be inside the mausoleum that is filled with thorn-covered vines. Fly through the vines in a spiral pattern, being careful not to touch them and grab the Wolfsbane in the very center. Navigate through the vines and fly out of the building. One more ingredient to go! Fly to your left and out of the graveyard, back to the area with the wolves from Part 1. Once you get to the bridge that you cut, fly down one level and fly over to your right. You’ll see a doorway that is blocked with rocks and wood. We’re now small enough to fly into it! Inside, you’ll see tons of roots growing inside but the one you need is all the way to your right. Navigate around the rocks until you reach the Mandrake Root on the bottom right, then fly back to your left and exit the area. Now that we have all the ingredients and we already know the recipe, we just have to get back to the lab to cure our vampirism! From the Mandrake Root cave, fly up and then to your right to enter the graveyard. Fly all the way to your right and enter the archway. Fly to your right toward the main entrance of the castle, and then just fly up to the top and enter the lab. Once you get into the lab with all the ingredients, you will automatically cure yourself and Cactus Von Garlic will deem himself the “Vampire Savior”! Congratulations, you’ve beat every part of Vampire’s Curse Island!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH
You may be wondering what this little thing is, but the answer is hidden in the picture... Well, actually when you open the picture in a new tab it is in the name, it is a Dryad.
A dryad is a tree nymph in Greek Mythology, but wait, didn't we already have a Greek Mythology based island? Oh well.
Lastly, there are two new store items.
A new Popgum and a new suit.

S.O.S Guide

Written by Super Thunder
Edited by Fuzzy-B
First, go to SOS if you’re not yet there. Your Poptropican will land in a shipwreck. There’s smoke everywhere, Poptropicans freezing their neck off…

If it were me, I’d say “That sucks… Bye!” and I’d take off on my blimp, but this is PoptropicaSo humbly, you risk your life and agree to go into that sinking ship.
Walk over to the door of the Pequod (that’s the ship), and you can’t open it ’cause there’s a giant… piece of ice there. So go to the left, and jump up, till you get to the other giant ice piece hanging above the first ice piece.

Get here, on top of one of the life boats, on the ship. Then, just keep making your way up until you come to a place that looks like this:

That’s the giant ice piece. Click it, and it will fall and break the other piece, leaving you a clear path for the door. Go inside the Pequod and then go up the little staircase. You can try the doors on the first floor, but there’s either something on them, or they’re broken.

Go inside this “Bridge” door, and make your way up the stairs. The ship captain will be calling the survivors. Talk to him, and he’ll tell you that he’s going down with the ship, unless all the passengers get rescued. So he tells you to rescue them, naturally. Click the little knob to the left.

Now you’ll be able to go into some rooms. Go out of that room, and look for room 6. When you find it, go in. A guy will be calling for a whale to help him. But… Wasn’t it an evil whale that slammed into that ship. Click him to rescue him. Talk to him and you’ll both leave the ship, and he’ll give you a whale caller. How nice.

Then, you need to rescue more passengers. Go back in and… Oh no! The water level is now a lot higher. You need to hurry.
Go to the room called the “Ballroom” and go inside. A poor girl is hanging on to a… Chandelier ’cause she can’t swim. Ohhhkay…
You say you’ll think of something. Of course you will. You always do, always will. Jump down, and look for the sparkly bottle and…

Sparkly…
No, wait, sorry, got distracted. Get the bottle, and walk swim over to the window on the right.
Click on your bottle icon, and shoot it to the crack on the window.

The water level will rise, and now go to the window on the left, which also has a crack on it. Do the same thing. The water level will rise, I mean, more than it already has, and you’ll be level with the swimless girl.

Get behind her and push her to the door. Another rescue… Check!
That’s the good news. the bad news is that the ship is at a 90 degree angle. Any rock climbers here?
Go inside the ship by jumping on windows, and then you’ll get to this hole on the top. Go down the hole. When you get to the part where the water starts, you’ll see this gadget thingy. Click it.

The water level will rise more, and the box will float up revealing an entrance. Sinking ship, little oxygen, high water levels… Does your Poptropican take you warnings? No, of course not. They barge right in and happily endanger their lives. So go in. D:
It’s the Ballroom! Again! Only it’s more… Well, watery this time. Swim up and avoid those blobs of jelly that are jellyfishes. :D
Go up to the top and PUZZLE TIME! I know you guys love these. That was sarcasm. I know you all hate them, but they aren’t that bad. It’s like the puzzles in Steamworks, and the little mental boss at the end of Game Show. I can’t help you here, it’s different for everyone, but good luck.
Water pressure builds, and BAM! The pipe go boom. And , well, going down wouldn’t be smart so go up. Poptropican logic.

This next part is extremely hard to describe. It’s another puzzle… But it’s kind of different.

To reduce the pressure, the Worker Girl will start the pressure. Go the little wheel on the other side to turn it off. You’ll need to do this three more times. My advice is, to follow where the pressure starts, pick one color pipe. Then follow it, to turn it off.
Worker Girl will say that she’ll fix the ship. But you tell her that the captain told her to get off, and you leave with her.
Go back in the ship, and move the trash around, The fan will fall, and you can push it away. Go down, and into the Ballroom. From the Ballroom, go into the main hall, and then into the open thingy.
*open thingy:

So go in, and once in, go inside the freezer. Yes, they’re actually measuring your body temperature. After swimming in ice I would have thought it didn’t matter, but… Oh well.
But what comes next is even more hilarious.

CHEFSICLE! I laughed over this for such a long time…
Back to business. Push boxes and carrot carts around to make a safe passage for Chefsicle. Then, take him to the heat thingy. If you make an unfixable mistake, just restart the level.

You defrosted Chefsicle! And now… Oh no… 180 degrees around. Just an average upside down ship. Any, um, ninjas around here?
Go back inside to save the captain. Resurface a lot, and get air bubbles. Watch out for those sharkies…
You’re completely underwater. It’s a fat chance that you’ll get out. But come on…
The truth is out! You find the captain, and the completely positive and happy advice he says is…

Wait, How are you speakiing underwate- Never mind. This is Poptropica I’m talking ’bout. Anyway, poor you guys, dying, and then… USE THE WHALE SONG GADGET!
Then yay! Use the wrench to fix the dial, and whaley will come… EAT YOU? It resurfaces and… Spits you out! Fantastic! Yay!
The captain gives you a medallion for saving his life. Really, you deserve like a trillion medallions ’cause you saved him, Swimless Beauty, Cefsicle and a whole bunch of other people. But oh well. Congrats!
But wait! There’s more!
BONUS QUEST (Members only):
Pretty self-explanatory. Tell him yes, you’ll help, and put on the Hazmat suit! Then, click on the oil leaks. All done!
