This has been a big year for Poptropica! So many updates, 9 new islands, many new suits, new additions to the game! I thought I would put together a timeline of some of the big things.
January
1st: Happy New Year, it's 2012. There are only 23 Islands.
6th: The trailer for S.O.S. Island is released.
12th: Ghost Story Island is now released to all.
13th: We get the first look at the Friends feature on the PCB.
19th: The Creators announce the first ever Members Only Bonus Quest.
26th: S.O.S. Island is released for Members.
February
6th: We get our first look at Vampire's Curse on the PCB.
7th: Vampire's Curse Island is announced.
15th: The Vampire's Curse trailer is relesed.
16th: S.O.S. is released to all.
22nd: We get a look at the Photo feature of Friends on the PCB.
29th: The map is transferred to a Multi-Page system.
March

Wimpy Boardwalk Guide
You’ll drop out of the blimp into the Boardwalk Games area and you’ll
see Greg get frustrated with one of the Boardwalk games and drop a $20
bill. Greg’s money will float away with the wind to the right and some
teenagers grab the money and run away with it.
Greg chases after them and you’re left on the boardwalk to help him. Run to your right and follow Greg and the teenagers. You’ll enter the Boardwalk Arcade area, just keep going until you see Greg and he will tell you that the teenagers have disappeared.
Continue to your right to the Beach and speak to the man taking souvenir keychain photos. Tell him that you don’t have any money and he’ll still let you take a picture with the cardboard cut out. After he snaps the photo, he will give you free sunblock. Head to your right and speak with the man near the water’s edge. Ask him if there’s anything you can do to help and then offer him the sunblock. He’ll give you Oily Suntan Lotion in return.
Run back to your left where Greg was on the Boardwalk Arcade and you’ll see the teenagers under the boardwalk, playing games with the money. Try to grab the money and they’ll pull it back and laugh. Run to your left, past the blimp, into the Boardwalk Rides area of Wimpy Boardwalk.
Run left past the cotton candy (candy floss) and jump up onto the Cranium Shaker ride. From the bottom cage, jump up to the next cage to the right and you’ll see a trash can lid. Click it to pick it up and then run to your left while holding the lid. You’ll come across a trash can containing bees that will sting you. You’ll automatically put the lid on the trash can.
Get on the left side of the trash can and then push it to the right until it is in front of the cotton candy (candy floss) cart, since it is “sweeter than honey”. Take the lid off of the trash can and the bees will fly off. Now it’s time to dig through the trash! Move all of the food out of the way and you’ll eventually (it takes awhile) uncover a Bag of Popcorn. Run left and then click on the popcorn cart to get a free refill of your popcorn.
Talk to the man with the metal detector on your right and then use the Keychain Picture. He will give you the metal detector, since he no longer needs it. Walk to your right until you see the woman underneath the beach umbrella. Once you are right in front of her, dump out your popcorn bag and the seagulls will swoop down and make her run away.
Now click the metal detector and search the area underneath her towel to find the car keys. At this point, you can spend some more time with the metal detector, finding tokens in the sand for the Boardwalk Games you will have to play later on in Wimpy Boardwalk. Once you are done with the metal detector, run all the way to the left, past the Fun House and give the woman her car keys. She will give you a pair of Flip Flops as a reward.. not as great of a reward as you thought was it?!
Walk to your left to the Claw game, which is Out of Order and click on it. Click on the joystick and rock it back and forth a few times and the game will turn on. Press the start button and then control the claw to pick up the yellow unicorn, football and blue robot. Once you get those out of the way, you will see a fake green vomit. Pick it up and you’ll win the prize. Gross!
Run back to the left until you see the long line for the bumper cars. Use the fake vomit in front of them and they’ll all run away, giving you a chance to ride the bumper cars! All you have to do is chase Rowley’s red car and smash it a few times and the Lucky Rabbit Foot will pop out. Just run over it to pick it up and the bumper car game will end.
Now that you’ve beaten all of the Boardwalk Games, you will be awarded the Jumbo Prize. Run to your left and use the Jumbo Prize next to the guy using the remote control helicopter. He’ll give you the Remote Controlled helicopter in exchange for the Jumbo Prize.
Run to your left and go into the Fun House. Climb up the ladder to help the big kid stuck in the slide. Open up your inventory and use the Oily Suntan Lotion to grease the slide and let him out. Once he makes it through the slide, the woman near the ball pit will give you Fregley’s leftover fish sticks.
Members Only Bonus Quest
Later in the day Mr. Jefferson is ready to leave but they cant find Greg! After threatening to leave Greg there he runs up and tells you there is an emergency! Some one has been unable to beat Greg's highscore on the arcade game "Thunder Volt" and has made the score board read...

...so now being the great Poptropican we are, we have to get the second place score to save Greg's "reputation".
If you don't have any coins to play the game then go over to the bumper cars. Wher you bump a person they drop a coin the same way Rowley dropped his rabbit foot. Drive around collecting coins for the minuet and a half then go back to the game, if you do have coins, go ahead and play! This game consist of four waves. Throughout the waves you are attacked by ships that try to shoot, crash, and basically try to kill you. You only need to score above 800,000 points to get the second place score and win the bonus quest, but you can win the entire "Thunder Volt" game and score up to about 3,200,000 points by beating the fourth boss. There is a multiplier in this game, so try to keep it as high asa possible by not getting hit so you can score more points.
Here are the list of the things you need to know.
Enemy Ships:
There are multiple types of ships which include the following.
Circle Ships: There are two types of circular ships, red and yellow. The yellow just float by, they are the easiest to destroy in the whole game. The red are the same as yellow, but they shoot at you.
Drills: There are drill ships that fly in Cris-cross patterns that can make you trapped in the squares created by the pattern. These are the second easiest to destroy and don't fire, they just fly.
"Fish" Ships: These are ships that somewhat resemble fish, they are slightly bigger than then the previous two. They don't shoot at you, but fly at you and try to hit crash into you.
"Frog" Ships: These ships are similar to the fish ships, but they are bigger and fire at you. The main difference is that these ships fly away after a certain amount of time so they could be destroyed or dodged, either way they end up gone.
"Snake" Ships: These ships appear to look like snakes. They are made up of many combined parts so when you destroy one part all of the parts behind it are destroyed so trying to destroy the head is the best way to eliminate them. The more powerful the weapon you have is, the bigger and more powerful the snake is.
Bosses: There is a boss for each of the four waves. See the "Bosses" section below for more information.
Upgrades:
There are four types of upgrades in this game.
Weapon Upgrade: These are the most common upgrade. They say "POW" on them and when you get one your weapon becomes more powerful. There are two types of these. The blue ones upgrade your weapon by one upgrade (see the list of weapon upgrades bellow), and the red ones upgrade your weapon by two upgrades. You get these by destroying an entire line of enemy ships.
Repair: This is the second most common type of upgrade. It repairs your shields up the max.

Bonus Points: This is the least common upgrade, as the name implies, it gives you bonus points. These have a coin with an "S" on them
Enemy Destroy: As the name implies, when you get one of these, it destroys all of the enemies on the screen. These are purple with a lightning bolt on them.
Bosses:
There is one boss per wave. When ever it comes on to the screen it says "Warning: Giant Enemy Approaching"
First Boss: The first boss is a large square like creature that fires two lasers directly forward and one red energy ball at you. It stays at the top of the screen firing at you except for when it charges at you. When this happens dodge of the edge of the screen and return and fire on it till it is defeated.
Second Boss: The second boss is like a giant three eyed lizard type thing. It appears randomly on either the top, bottom, left, and right sides of the screen. When it pops up it fires two streams of red balls straight forward, and one stream at you. When this boss's health gets down to about 25% the red energy balls he fires at you become more, and more powerful.
Third Boss: The third boss is almost like an hour glass shape. The center of the ship and the eyes on the top and bottom are the only vulnerable spots. When you get the health of the ship down pretty low, the one ship splits into two. The same spots are still vulnerable so shoot them to beat this boss.
Fourth Boss: The fourth boss is completely insane! It is a huge ship that takes up the entire screen on the right side. While you fight it, asteroids fly around, and they take away health when they hit you, so dodge them. The inside of this huge ship is the vulnerable spot so hit it there. This ship has three types of attacks. The first is that it sprays red energy balls across the screen in wave shapes that are pretty close, but can be flown between. The second is similar to the first but the energy balls are more powerful and bigger, but they are spaced farther apart and easier to dodge. The last is a huge continuous laser blast that goes all the way across the screen. After you defeat this boss, you have won the game!!
Weapon Upgrades:
Every time you get a weapon upgrade, your weapon either becomes more shots, or more powerful. This is the list of weapons.
Blue Laser Blast: The weapon the you start the game with is the blue laser blast. It is the smallest and least powerful weapon.
Triple Blue Laser Blast: The next upgrade is the same as the one before, but is shoots three shots at once instead of one.
White Laser Blast: This is the next weapon upgrade. It is the same as the first but more powerful and slightly bigger along with being white.
Triple White Laser Blast: The next upgrade is the same as the one before, but is shoots three shots at once instead of one.
Blue Energy Ball: The next upgrade moves you from lasers to energy balls. These blue energy balls fire at a medium rate and are more powerful than the last.
Triple Blue Energy Ball: The next upgrade is the same as the one before, but is shoots three shots at once instead of one.
White Energy Ball: The white energy balls are like the blue ones, but bigger and more powerful.
Triple White Energy Ball: The next upgrade is the same as the one before, but is shoots three shots at once instead of one.
Thunder Volt: This upgrade moves you from energy ball to lightning bolts called thunder volts. These thunder volts continue forever, so they just pass through any enemy ship in their path and destroy it.
Triple Thunder Volt: The next upgrade is the same as the one before, but is shoots three shots at once instead of one.
Big Thunder Volt: This is the same as the regular thunder volt but it is defiantly bigger and longer, as well as more powerful.
Triple Big Thunder Volt: The next upgrade is the same as the one before, but is shoots three shots at once instead of one. This is the most powerful weapon in the whole game. You can not upgrade any higher than this.
Final Screen/High Score

Finding the Keys
Continue to your left to the Fun House and run all the way left into the parking lot. A woman will be in the parking lot and will tell you that she’s lost her car keys and that she’ll give you a nice reward if you find them. Run all the way to your right until you get back to the Beach. Climb up onto the trash can and when you see the seagull flying across, jump up and click on it and you will get a Keychain Picture.Talk to the man with the metal detector on your right and then use the Keychain Picture. He will give you the metal detector, since he no longer needs it. Walk to your right until you see the woman underneath the beach umbrella. Once you are right in front of her, dump out your popcorn bag and the seagulls will swoop down and make her run away.

Boardwalk Arcade
Head to your right back to the Boardwalk Arcade and you’ll see a kid crying because his Frisbee (flying disc) is stuck on the roof, which looks like it’s too hot to go barefoot. Thankfully, you have the flip flops. Put the flip flops on and then use the trash can on the right of the Tee Time shop to jump onto the roof and get the Flying Disc. Give the frisbee to the little kid and he will tell you how to play the broken Claw Game for free!Walk to your left to the Claw game, which is Out of Order and click on it. Click on the joystick and rock it back and forth a few times and the game will turn on. Press the start button and then control the claw to pick up the yellow unicorn, football and blue robot. The Lucky Rabbit Foot
The lucky rabbit foot is the key to one of the Boardwalk Games. In fact, it is impossible to win it without the Lucky Rabbit Foot. You’re almost there, don’t worry!Run back to the left until you see the long line for the bumper cars. Use the fake vomit in front of them and they’ll all run away, giving you a chance to ride the bumper cars! All you have to do is chase Rowley’s red car and smash it a few times and the Lucky Rabbit Foot will pop out. Just run over it to pick it up and the bumper car game will end.
Boardwalk Games
Head to your right and you will get to the Boardwalk Games area of Wimpy Boardwalk. There are 5 different games that you have to beat in order to get the jumbo prize: Himalayan Hurl, Fastball Fury, Circus Soaker, Space Fling, Pirate Panic. Hopefully you picked up a few tokens along the way. You shouldn’t really need too many tokens, as most will be able to get through all of the games with around 10 tokens.Himalayan Hurl
Himalayan Hurl is a rigged game, like many Boardwalk Games in real life. It is physically impossible to beat Himalayan Hurl without having Rowley’s Lucky Rabbit Foot. In fact, Graser said that even when the ball lands on the red hole, if you don’t have the Lucky Rabbit Foot, you still lose! The nice thing is that it’s easy to tell you how to beat Himalayan Hurl — just make sure you have the Lucky Rabbit Foot. If you have it, then you will automatically win the game on your first try! If not, you will try hundreds of times and you’ll never win!Fastball Fury
Fastball Fury is the next game that you have to win. When you start the game, there will be a power meter on the right going up and down. Click your mouse on the catchers mitt when the power meter is in the same spot 3 times. I used the chart on the wall so that I would know where I was stopping it each time. If you can stop it around the same time each time, your speed should be within 3 or so of each other each time, so when it asks you to guess the speed, it should be quite close to the previous two speeds.Circus Soaker
In order to beat Circus Soaker and get the prize, it seems tough and you’ll think you are going to lose, but if you try your best to keep on target, you’ll still win. The object of this game is to simply shoot your water canon into the right side of the clowns mouth. You should see a tiny hole on the right side of his mouth. As long as you aim for that and make a good attempt to keep it going in his mouth, you will beat Circus Soaker.Space Fling
Space Fling is one of the tougher games, so expect to spend 2-3 tokens getting the hang of the ring toss before you get one of them around the bottle. Click and hold on one of the rings and then flick your mouse up and let go to toss it over the bottle. Most people toss the ring too hard, so try light movements to get the ring around the bottle to beat Space Fling.Pirate Panic
Run to your right, past the Laser Tag common room for Pirate Panic. Pirate Panic is one of the easier Boardwalk Games, just pick up one of the baseballs and then let go of your mouse to throw it at the bottles. You should be able to knock them all off in one shot and beat Pirate Panic.Now that you’ve beaten all of the Boardwalk Games, you will be awarded the Jumbo Prize. Run to your left and use the Jumbo Prize next to the guy using the remote control helicopter. He’ll give you the Remote Controlled helicopter in exchange for the Jumbo Prize.

Getting Greg’s Money Back
Leave the Fun House and run to your right all the way to the water’s edge on the beach. Open up your inventory and Use the Fish Sticks on the Helicopter. Then, open it up again and dangle the fish stick above the crab near the shore line. The crab will grab on to the fish stick!
Run to your left onto the boardwalk where the teenagers are playing with Greg’s $20. Use the Remote Controlled Helicopter with the Fish Sticks and Crab on it and have the crab grab the money! Then, run over to the money and grab it yourself. Both you and Greg will run around and chase the teenagers away from under the boardwalk and Greg will finally get his money back! He will thank you for your help and give you the medallion! But this is not the end of the story!Members Only Bonus Quest

Big Thunder Volt: This is the same as the regular thunder volt but it is defiantly bigger and longer, as well as more powerful.
Triple Big Thunder Volt: The next upgrade is the same as the one before, but is shoots three shots at once instead of one. This is the most powerful weapon in the whole game. You can not upgrade any higher than this.

Who is Zaggy Moondust? And what's he got to do with Poptropica? Perhaps one day we will find out.

- Zaggy Moondust appears to be a Rock/Pop star.
We don't know if Zaggy is a boy or girl since both are featured. Since the title of the post says "He" it can be assumed that Zaggy is a guy. Strange that both a boy and girl are featured though. (thanks for commenting and showing me this.)- Zaggy may well be the main character of an upcoming island, since he/she has their own post.
- All of the terms above are drums that are part of a trap set, more commonly known as a drum set.
- Since this is about a drum set, it furthers the idea that Zaggy Moondust is the lead of a band.

Snow in July?
First thing, there is a new PCB post promoting the fireworks in the Poptropica Store since this Wednesday is the 4th of July.\

In other news there are two new land masses on your now four page Poptropica Map. The new Island Wimpy Boardwalk and a new advertisement for the new Ice Age movie.
The new Ice Age advertisement is like the Alvin and the Chipmunks one, except only two of the four games work. The first game's plot involves you sailing to a safe point by following a compass and not being sunk by pirates the second is a memory game. Here are the prizes.
EDIT: It appears that in the Daily Pop the last few posts have been previewing an individual Multiplayer Room for each of the Poptropolis Tribes! Here they are!
So where are the rooms for the Night Crawlers, Yellow Jackets, and Flying Squid? Maybe those are to come!

What is that...?
The new post on the Creators Blog has to do with the new island, Wimpy Boardwalk!
Really, what is it? It looks like one of the "surprises" my dog leaves in the yard.... Yucky. In bigger news... The Wimpy Boardwalk Trailer and Membership Items are out.
These are pretty cool. Not as cool as the last couple though... Any ways, the umbrella is pretty funny when you put it on...
Also be looking for the next scavenger hunt that will soon be up!
Finally, here is the oddest Daily Pop Post I have seen in a long time.

These posters look pretty wimpy...

Is it just me or does this beach kinda look like a dump? Any way here is a photo of the Printable Poster.
I still can't wait for the new Members Only Items. They seem like they will be pretty cool. I have long awaited for a swim suit in Poptropica (other than that guy in Early Poptropica in the cavern)...
In other news, CC tells us what it takes to win the newly released Poptropolis Games!
For me, Archery, Diving, and Javelin are some of the easiest while Weight Lifting, Hurtles, and Pole Vault are some of the harder ones. How about you? Have you ever gotten all firsts? The best I have done was around 5 firsts, 2 seconds, 1 fourth, and 1 seventh. Not to great, eh? But I have won it 3/4 times I have played it though. That first time is really hard so remember to do the practicing before you actually compete in the event. Finally, what do you think happened to the Space themed island that had previews popping up in the Daily Pop? Strange... Until next time!

Going for the gold
The good thing about the Poptropolis Games is that you don't need to place first in every event in order to win the gold medallion. The winner of the Games is the one with the best overall performance, which means you can have a few clunkers and still come out on top.
It's a good thing, too! Some of these events are tough. I laid an egg on the pole vault the last time I played.
Some of you may have already won the gold medallion, but has anybody out there placed first in every single event? That's a feat we'd love to see!
Remember, Poptropolis Games is open to Members now. It will be available for everyone to play on June 14.

It's official... as I had in my last post from this link, the new Island is Wimpy Kid themed... It is Wimpy Boardwalk! Click HERE for the info page!
