Announcing... Back Lot Island!

It appears that the name of the newest Island has been accidentally shown to us. There was a recent post on the Creators Blog that went like this...

Sneaky. Very Sneaky.

In Sneak Peeks, we post concept art and other work in development for unannounced Islands. If you’d been checking Sneak Peeks through January and February and seen images like the one posted above, you probably would have surmised that we were working on a movie-themed Island… long before we announced Back Lot Island!
Sneak Peeks is updated five days a week. All you need to do to check it out is to visit Poptropica and click on the “Daily Pop” icon to see the latest.
We’re usually working on more than one Island at a time. Can you guess what we might be working on next?

Very, very sneaky Creators. After being posted on the PCB it was taken down, most likely because it said "you probably would have surmised that we were working on a movie-themed Island… long before we announced Back Lot Island!"

But they haven't announced Back Lot Island yet! I guess they have now! Even when you go to www.backlotisland.com it redirects to Poptropica.com! I belive that we have our new Island name!

Night Watch... Watch What?

The newest Poptropica island has been announced. The new Island’s name will be… wait for it… wait for it… Night Watch Island!

From the earlier “Mall Island” previews including one with a security office, it is safe to say that the newest island is what we have been calling Mall Island. I must admit, Night Watch is a whole lot cooler than Mall. We might even be cracking codes, based on this sneak peek entitled “Open Sesame – What’s the password?”

But wait… what does this mean for Monster Carnival, Mardi Gras, and Theater based Islands? Do you think they are still coming, or will they be a part of this newest Island? What do you think this new Island is going to be about?

The Mall Mystery!

Hey there fellow Poptropicans! There is a new Creators Blog post today about what seems to be the setting of an upcoming Island. Isn’t it nice to take a break from all of the conspiracy bad news circulating Poptropolis Island?

After hours

I went to the mall to exchange some holiday gifts, but I got there too late. They were closed.

Don't you hate that? It's not as though you can have any fun at the mall after it closes for the night.

What type of fun can we have in a mall after closing time? What type of quest could this involve? The mall mystery. This one little post raises a lot of questions about the premise of this upcoming Island.  Recent Daily Pops have been pointing at a mall themed Island, could they hold all of the answers? Well, we will just have to see when we get to Twin Palms Mall.

Super Villian Island is Official!

The new PCB post today is quite exciting, the name of the new Island has been announced!

    Announcing the next Poptropica Island!

Four of Poptropica’s most vile, devious, and good-looking fiends will be returning in Super Villain Island.

What sort of evil schemes are they dreaming of? We’ll have a lot more information about Super Villain Island soon!

What is a Wharf?

A wharf or quay is a structure on the shore of a harbor where ships may dock to load and unload cargo or passengers. Such a structure includes one or more berths (mooring locations), and may also include piers, warehouses, or other facilities necessary for handling the ships.

To answer the question, that is Wikipedia's definition of a wharf. So, why does a wharf have to do with Poptropica? It will be a location in one of Poptropica's upcoming Islands!

How an island is born

We're in the earliest stages of a planning a new Island -- one that is still months away from becoming reality. All we've got so far is an idea, and the pile of sketches you see above. Hard to believe, but one day this simple black and white schematic will become a full-blown Poptropica Island!

*sniff* They grow up so fast...

 So lets see what we can get from this after zooming in.
At the top we see some writing saying something like "YLK Video Game Survivalist" but it is to blurry to be for sure. Under that we see what appears to be the map of the island. It has a wharf that leads to "Chinatown" and goes down to a Subway. Chinatown has lines coming from it with writing, the only part of it that you can read is "D.J." The next location we come to is called "Brown Stones" which leads down to a bunker. There is another location to the right but we can't see it.

Bellow is a drawing of a beaker that says "Lab" above it. Besides that is a list of what may possibly be the items from the island. The ones that I can read are...

-Address and Phone Number
-Shopping List
-Batteries
-Empty Smoothie Cup
-Cell Phone
-Wallet
    ID and Subway Pass
-Manifest
-Car Keys

There are also two others, but all I can make out is something like "Film Kjmat" and "Showe List"
but the letters are blurry.

So what do you think? This seems pretty neat!

EDIT: While watching the Lunar Colony Trailer again, I saw something interesting at 41 seconds that you should see...

Could this just be an Easter Egg the creators put in the trailer for fun, or does this prove that Dr. Hare will be in Lunar Colony?

So all the space Daily Pops I have been posting are the previews for the new island! Is it just me or does this island look amazing!!! From the name it sounds like it will be Poptropicans living on the moon. Lunar being the moon and colony implying we will live there. But what about the aliens or green Poptropicans or whatever they are on the Pwter moon that you can access through the space ship on Astro-Knights?

We're all huge fans of Thunder Volt here, which you can play as a part of the bonus quest on Wimpy Boardwalk. It doesn't look like anybody will ever be able to top Greg Heffley's score. Friendly Bug here didn't even come close.

Let us recap everything we can get from this post!

• Zaggy Moondust appears to be a Rock/Pop star.
• We don't know if Zaggy is a boy or girl since both are featured. Since the title of the post says "He" it can be assumed that Zaggy is a guy. Strange that both a boy and girl are featured though. (thanks for commenting and showing me this.)
• Zaggy may well be the main character of an upcoming island, since he/she has their own post. 

Now lets see what we can get from this post when we look at it with the newest Daily Pop post!

 

• All of the terms above are drums that are part of a trap set, more commonly known as a drum set.
• Since this is about a drum set, it furthers the idea that Zaggy Moondust is the lead of a band.

Announcing the next Poptropica Island!

Greg Heffley is returning to Poptropica, and this time he's in full color! Don't miss Wimpy Boardwalk, coming this summer to Poptropica!

The Pop-Tron-Olis Games

First off, the Poptropolis Games (also known as Reality TV Island 2: No Cameras* in some countries) is now out! It is really fun, it is made of a bunch of mini-games like RTV and the person with the lowest score at the end wins, so if you get first place in all of the mini-games then you automatically win because you have the lowest score possible. If you are a member then you also get a chance at wrestleing the last champion for a members only suit.
Also my favorite guy is comin  back to Poptropica!

The city of Poptropolis rises from the sea once every 100 years to host a tournament devoted to proving tribal supremacy. In Poptropolis Games, you'll choose a tribe to represent, and compete in several track and field events in pursuit of the championship. It won't be easy!

The newest Island has been announced... S.O.S. Island!

 When a whale-watching expedition strikes an iceberg, a pleasure cruise becomes a disaster scene. As the ship sinks deeper and deeper into the frigid waters of the North Atlantic, can you rescue everyone onboard before it's too late?

It seems to be based on the Titanic, also, is this really an island since you are on a boat? We will have to wait and find out. Also has anyone noticed that we are getting a new island a month.

First... Oh. My. Gosh. This whole legend thing's hype is quite large, I mean, when I saw this I went "EEEEEE!!!" because I'm so excited about this whole legend, really I am just happy that there is more Info coming. Please, look below at the post below this so that you can read its epicness, and vote on my poll and comment if you select that answer.

Are the Creators trying to put blogs out of business?

Are the Creators trying to put blogs out of business? I would say no, but they have started making their own guides!

It replaced the "Mini-Store Stand" on Astro-Knights  so will this become a reoccurring thing on islands? I don't know but what I do know is that it is good. There is a home page that showcases the Mini-Guide parts that explain the most popular/hardest parts of the island, also a page that offers a Mini-Video Guide for each step of the Island, and a Help By Topic page that has a direct link to the videos that explain how to get each item, what to do in each room, and how to win the boss battles (as shown below). It is really quite impressive.

And there is a new PCB post on the new, upcoming, Mini-Game that seems to be based on Diner Dash. It even shares part of the name.
