The Adventures of Captain Lightning: Episode 13

Episode 13: Into the Fire Part Two
As soon as Captain heard the noise he saw Booth fly backwards and hit the wall behind him. He seemed badly wounded and wasn’t moving. When he looked over to where the noise came from he saw the Xenon-8 commander in all of his terrifying glory.
“Welcome young hero…”
The Commander unleashed another shot out of his alien weapon. It looked like a giant bolt crackling with energy.
“I created it just to defeat you with. Fitting that the Captain Lightning will be defeated with nothing other than lightning.”
“You will never get the chance!”
“I wouldn’t be so sure!”
Captain ran at the Commander but as soon as he was there the Commander had disappeared.
“You can’t thing that you are the only one with special powers!”
It was at this moment that the Commander appeared right in front of Captain and slashed at him with the bolt, missing him by only a matter of inches. Continually assaulting Captain the Commander was brutal. He was going to show no mercy at all. His invasion of the planet would not be stopped. He would not fail.

While Captain was having his battle, the knights had their own. Once Captain made his way into the building an army of the Xenon-8 appeared at the top of the volcano.
“Kill the fleshlings!!”
The battle had begun.
The knights stood their ground waiting on the Xenon-8 to come closer, then charged at them. Slashing at the knights, the aliens had no technique, leaving themselves open to be slashed down by the knights. Even with their limited fighting ability, there were so many of them, the knights couldn’t hold them off for long. With more continuously coming, the army was slowly getting closer to the castle. If they got in, it would all be over. It was all over. The Xenon-8 were bringing out the big one.

Captain was still doing his best to find the controller to shut down the portal. It was rather hard to look while being attacked by the ugliest creature in the galaxy. His attacks were completely brutal. Booth had already gone down. Would Captain be next? While the bolt was zinging towards his face there was little time to search for what he came for. Everything looked the same. On the inside, the castle was little more than a cave. Captain had to make his way over to Booth to get something to fight back with or else the mission would fail. Captain would only have one chance.

The knights were also having the fight of their lives. They were able to hold off the waves of mindless soldiers but there was a really big one with a fin that was slowly getting closer and closer to them. They hoped that Captain could get his mission done before they had to face the big daddy Xenon-8.

While the knights were hoping that Captain would be done soon, his plan hatched. He managed to kick the Commander in the stomach (area since he was a skeleton) and he flew backwards. While he was down Captain sprinted over to Booth and grabbed the Xenon-8 detaining net. Mow this contraption was invented as a large net that when thrown over a Xenon-8 disables them to no more than a motionless pile of bones. As Captain grabbed it and threw it on the Commander the fight was over. Captain had defeated this alien menace and was ready to go home. Wait a minute, Captain was thinking to himself, I still haven’t found the portal controls! It wasn’t near the Commander’s chair. It wasn’t even in the room! Where else could it be… He then looked over at the Commander’s secret weapon. That was the key, that was the control. He ran over and grabbed it then bolted out of the door. He ran all the way back to meet up with the knights.

The big daddy Xenon-8 was on its way to the knights. There was no way that they could hold it off.
“It was a great honor to fight with you men.”
“The honor was ours,” The other two knights said.
This is when the unexpected happened in a marvelous way. A bolt of lightning flew through the castle door and straight into the gargantuan foe. It then fell with a boom. Captain ran out of the door and rallied the knights behind him. With Captain leading the way blasting the Xenon-8 away with the portal control and the knights behind him cleaning up the stragglers, they soon made their way back to the portal. Once they were back on their own planet Captain charged the weapon up all the way and let it fire with all of its might through the portal. The portal then shrank until it disappeared. The world was saved. The mission was complete.
“Where is the gallant fighter Booth?” asked one of the knights.
“He didn’t make it…”

Three Hours Later:
Captain and the knights were just arriving at the lab when the Professor ran out and embraced them.
“Great job men, I knew that you could complete the mission!”
“Not without loss.”
“He knew what he was getting into.”
They all looked at each other solemnly. No one spoke a word until the Professor chimed back in.
“You still have to clean up all of the Xenon-8 still here.”
“We can save that till tomorrow, can’t we?”

The Adventures of Captain Lightning: Episode 12

Episode 12: Into the Fire Part One

May 14th:
The team was on their way to Shrink Ray Island, the home Island of Captain, to go through the portal. They were going to go into the depths of the Fire Planet to stop the Xenon-8 and close the portal for good. The situation was tense. The five men sat quietly in the Professors helicopter. They were about to try something incredibly dangerous. Some of them may not make it back. Once Shrink Ray came into view the men prepared for the jump. They were going to parachute in, with the island being too dangerous to land on. It was completely overrun by the Xenon-8. They were everywhere. It was their base camp on Planet Poptropica. As the drop zone came into place the five jumped out of the chopper. As they floated silently down to the island in the dead of night they were all going over the plan in their heads. Captain and Booth were going to go straight for the leader, while the three knights districted the rest of the Xenon-8 and gave them cover. The plan seemed easy enough, but once I the portal, you can only be in for 24 hours until you can’t go back through. They couldn’t make it on the enemy planet for the amount of time it would take to launch a rescue shuttle from Lunar Colony Island. This was to be for the fate of the world. They landed on the island silently. As they snuck towards the portal they saw the Xenon-8 planting some sort of fruit. There was a sign over it that said
Captain took a photo with his helmet and continued on. These plants were to become the source of one of the greatest pandemics in the history of Poptropica, but that is another story.

Continuing on, the team saw that the apartments were completely destroyed. There was nothing left but rubble. In the center of it was the portal. As the team snuck towards it they noticed an awful smell. It was the smell of sulfur, coming from the portal. It really was the fire planet. They make it to the portal. A blue disk floating in the air. Once you were close enough to it, you could barely make out the outline of a volcano. This was their destination. They one by one went through and arrived on the home of the enemy. They stared their watches, knowing that they only had 24 hours. Once they were on the planet they descended into the volcano. Farther and farther down they went, seeing what appeared to be a castle built in the bowls of the volcano. As they neared to entrance they stopped and talked about the plan.
“Knights, you remain outside and cover me and Booth as we confront the Alien leader and take the portal controller. Once we have it we will get back on this side of the portal and close it up. Clear?”
“Clear.”
“Good, now let’s go!”
Captain and Booth ran into the castle while the knights stayed outside, waiting on the reinforcements to come. Navigating the halls, Captain knew where to go; he followed the noise, a noise he hadn’t heard since he gained his powers. They continued to run until they saw a huge door. They quietly opened it and walked in. As soon as they were inside, there was a huge bang.

The Adventures of Captain Lightning: Episode 11

Episode 11: The Knight Before the Dawn

May 13th:
Captain and Booth were on the way to Astro-Knights Island. Captain had just learned that he had to go into the portal to the Fire Planet to shut down the portal for good. There was no other way to close it and save the day. He couldn’t do it by himself; he knew that, so a team was being formed to help him. At this point there was only Captain, and now Booth von Rose, an alien hunter. Now they are on their way to Astro-Knights Island to get three other men to join their group, three men that had already been into space. One of them had already been on the fire planet. Sir Cador, Sir Pelleas, and Sir Gawain. The three knights. These are the only three men on the planet with experience in space battle. They had arrived. Astro-Knights looked a lot better then the photos he had seen. They were all of the island smoking, in the wake of an alien attack, but at this point everything was rebuilt and in amazing shape! As they walked to the castle, they were getting strange stairs. They were very different from everyone else on this island. Once they finally got to the castle they walked in and went to the throne room. Here, they found the three knights and approached them.
“Sirs, we greatly need your help.”
Captain went on to explain all about the situation that they were in, and who they were. Once the urgency of the matter had been explained the knights walked off to talk. When they returned, they had an answer.
“We shall accompany you on this quest of yours to save the royal highness of Arthurus from impending invasion.”
“Thank you.”
They now headed back to the lab to begin this final charge against the Xenon-8. When captain walked in he saw a new suit, somewhat like his, hanging up. This one seemed more technologically advanced, with metal armor and a helmet with a visual display.
“It’s and upgraded suit. If you’re going to go to the Fire Planet and face the Xenon-8 leader then you’re going to need something to protect yourself and give you a visual display of what is happening.” The Professor was busy working on the suit.
“Great, now where do we go?”
“To the portal. You must go through it.”
“Where is the portal?”
“In your old apartment building.”

The Adventures of Captain Lightning: Episode 10

Episode 10: Booth of Opportunity

May 11th:
Once Captain made it back to the lab to get his suit repaired, there was awful news waiting on him.
“There is some bad news coming your way.”
“What now?”
“There is a complication about the portal, you need to close it now.”
“But I don’t have all of the Xenon-8!”
“Yes, but if you don’t close it now, it will never be closed.”
“So, take me there so we can close it.”
“Well, to close it…”
“What do I have to do?” Captain was getting angry.
“You will have to go into the portal, and on to the fire planet. You will have to find the Xenon-8 Leader and take the portal controls from him. Once you are in you have 24 hours to get in, get the controls, and get back out to close it before your electrons become trapped. That’s why we can’t send the Xenon-8 back through the portal.”
“So I have to go into the belly of the beast, onto the Fire Planet to shut off the portal. And that I have to get there and back, finding, and taking a portal controller from their leader, in a day?”
“Yes.”
“No, I didn’t sign up for this.”
“You have to; you are the only one that can save us. Their plan is that they will come, and take all of us to their planet, making us mine radioactive rocks to power their world. If you have a team you can do this quite well! I have already gotten a team ready to help you. You can do this!”
“And how do you know this?”
“You don’t know everything, and there is a reason for that!”
This is when the door to the lab busted open and Xenon-8 busted in. There were so many of them. At least a hundred had found them. Captain grabbed spare wings from the wall and strapped them on, preparing to blast off a new man jumped into the lab after the aliens. He was very prepared, he had weapons that seemed specifically made for these things, slicing through them with ease. He seemed to mow them down as fast as they could get to him. This man with a handle bar mustache and a scar on his face obviously knew what he was doing. He had done this before. This man must be part of the team being formed. No matter how much they fought back, they were about to be over run. As they ran out the back he closer examined the man.
“Who are you?”
“I’m Booth von Rose.”
“So your part of the team that is going to help me?”
“That’s what I was told.”
“Good. I can use you.”
Once they had bugged out and made it to a safe zone they stopped and talked.
“So who else is going to join me?” Captain was now talking to the Professor.
“I have three more men, that have already had experience in space.”
“Oh great, I think I know who you are taking about.”

The Adventures of Captain Lightning: Episode 9

Episode 9: Limited Engagement Part Two

May 9th:
With all of the Xenon-8 around there was no sensible way out. He couldn’t take them all on. If he ran, the victory would go to them, and he would have no ground in this. What is he going to do? There really was only one thing to do. He hit his belt and the wings popped out. The Xenon-8 army was charging and he flew up. He threw down the last three transporters and hit three aliens. But that was the extent of his victory because as soon as he was out he was grabbed by one of the aliens, but this one was different. It appeared more advanced then the others. It seemed to have electric armor, and an eye patch. Why? Why does a skeleton need an eye patch? Either way it had a hold of him and threw him down on the ground. This thing meant business.

While this was happening, there was research being done by the Professor. He was figuring out how to close the portal to end this for good. It wasn’t making any sense. The data was showing that there was a very slim chance of it being closed on our end. There was no way of it being closed on our end. To close it some one would have to go through. This is not going to go well.

Captain was thrown through the wall nearest to him. He couldn’t handle this. Not by himself. His wings were malfunctioning. Completely. There was no escape. Only fighting his way out. He still had some explosive pellets to use. Once the alien commando caught up with him he threw all of his explosive pellets at him. There was a large explosion then silence. Now he just needed to find a way back to the lab. Just to find out some awful news. His mission is about to get even harder then ever.

The Adventures Of Captain Lightning: Episode 8

Episode 8: Limited Engagement Part One

May 9th:
Captain had just arrived on Early Poptropica Island. He was using the tracker the Professor gave him to find the first Xenon-8. He was tracking it into “the pit”. This was the beginning of his mission, the first Xenon-8 he was going to capture. As he descended into the sewers he saw the alien right bellow him. As he walked down and down, soon he was upon it. It was hideous. It was a bare skeleton, with spikes growing out of its back. It was like something from a bad dream. As he snuck around near it, it sensed him. It slowly turned and looked at him.
“I can smell the radiation that gives you your power. It smells delicious.” The voice was cold and raspy. It was like something from a nightmare, but he had heard it somewhere before. He had heard something like that when he saw the two men talking while he was on the rocket. One looked somewhat like this monster.
“What do you plan to do now, fleshling? How do you plan to stop us? You can’t, we shall invade and your planet will be ours.”
“Not while I’m on the mission.”
Once he said this, he threw the transporter onto the alien and it did nothing. The alien just stood there and looked at hm. It wasn’t until the Xenon-8 charged him that the thing worked. There was a bright flash, and it was gone. It was amazing. With a blink it was gone, and presumably to a cage back at the lab. This wasn’t going to be as hard as he thought. This is when about a dozen more of the Xenon-8 appeared out of the shadows and surrounded Captain. He only had three more transporters. This wasn’t going to be good. Now, they charged.
